SportChamps Review
SportChamps is the brainchild of former Betstar owner Alan Eskander. SportChamps is a tournament betting provider of sports and horse racing competitions. Members can enter paid and free competitions where they use virtual cash to place on sports and horse racing events, some involving fantasy markets. SportChamps is the operator of the competitions and takes a cut from each of the tournaments; the remainder is paid out to the winning participants. SportChamps is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory government and is the only corporate betting site to focus solely on tournament betting.
SportChamps offers you the ability to test your fantasy and betting knowledge against fellow punters. If you are successful in a tournament, you will likely be handsomely rewarded. The competition prize dividends vary, some double your entrance fee for finishing in the top 45%, while some competitions reward the top few entrants only. SportChamps does not provide conventional fixed odds betting.
Tournament betting explained
Tournament betting is a wagering format whereby all participants receive virtual cash to place on a series of markets. The participants that generate the biggest virtual profits from their bets go to the top of the tournament leader board and will receive real cash at the end of the tournament. All participants pay an entry that goes into a prize pool. The prize money for that tournament is then distributed amongst the winning entrants as spelt out in the rules of each tournament. SportChamps’ tournaments have a minimum of five bets.
SportChamps tournaments
SportChamps runs all sorts of tournaments and the prize money varies with each. They operate some ‘Winner Takes All’ tournaments and some tournaments where the top 45% of entrants win, by having their bet stake doubled; most tournaments see prizemoney distributed to the top 25% or 40% of entrants.
SportChamps icons

- The prize pool – this is the minimum prize pool for the tournament, it grows as more users enter
- The chart icon – this tells you what percentage of entrants will receive a dividend
- The entrance fee – how much it costs to enter and play
